Our Beliefs

Pets are family. We think their lives should be honored and their stories should be told.

About Pet Stories

Pet Stories is a web-based service provider that allows its community members to capture, memorialize, and celebrate one of life’s most important relationships: their pets.  Based in the United States and serving family packs worldwide, our mission-focused organization provides pet parents with a truly unique way to process and heal from the loss of their pet.

The Pet Stories Journey

In February 2023, a black dog showed up outside Zach and Kyra Bell's car as they were unloading groceries. He was skinny and anxious, but had a collar on and seemed friendly. They brought him inside and started contacting local animal rescues and lost dog social media pages, sure that someone would be in touch shortly. No one ever came. They dubbed him Bronson, and he became an immediate member of the pack.

But in 2024, he fell ill with a mysterious disease. After a 16-day stay in the ICU and subsequent complications that left him hospitalized two more times, they finally found the right diagnosis and treatment plan. By that time, they had spent countless hours in veterinary offices and animal emergency centers, watching fellow pet owners come and go with the same distressed look about them. The emotional impact of almost losing Bronson opened Zach and Kyra's eyes to the realities, pain, and struggle of saying goodbye to a pet.

They began to research more about grief and pet passing, finding that there are very few formalized ways to process the loss of a beloved pet. Pet Stories was formed to help pet owners honor their beloved, four-legged family members in a thoughtful, impactful way and create a community of fellow pet owners going through the same journey.
